So, your Summer wasn’t that great? Well the weather may not have been as wonderful as last year, but we had a great time at Oystercatchers. We learned not to plan too far ahead, but to seize the moment and get out and about when the wind/rain/tide allowed it. We learned that windy weather means no midges! We watched the rain pour off the top garden in magnificent torrents, and small waterfalls, out through the gate and down the road – the sound of running water made a change from only having the local birdlife to listen to!

The waterfall on the road to Portree benefited from the gallons of rain that seemed to drop out of the heavens from time to time, but I would say that we had some sunshine almost every single day (bar 3 – out of a total of 5 weeks – not bad overall)

We had some fabulous days on the water of Ob Breacais – launching at one time 3 dinghies, 2 kayaks and a total of 9 people on the water at one time aged between 78 and 12!

We even managed a wonderful evening around the firepit – Smores and more (shows it really didn’t rain all the time!)
