Autumn in Breakish

Bottom of the Garden where we had our orange juice before setting off

Awoke to a glorious autumn morning ā€“ silent except for the sound of the seabirds, no wind and clear blue skies. Seized the moment and drank our breakfast orange juice in the lower garden with the sea lapping at our feet and the still water only broken by a neighbour gently puttering out on the tide. In the afternoon fearing that the light and tide were on the turn we took the car 5 minutes up the road to Ardnish beach which stretched out empty and dry. A delightful walk around the waters edge and then following the shoreline towards Kyleakin. With the autumn showing to its best we walked towards Broadford on Sunday afternoon, taking the well maintained footpath across the Head of the Bay before branching off to follow the shore on the seaward side of the Ardnish peninsular. Kicking ourselves for leaving the binos in the cottage as the seals were just too far away we turned towards Breakish over the peninsular to create a circular hour long walk which finished by crossing the bay at the bottom of the garden. Magical.
