Ragged Robin on Ardnish

Ragged Robin on Ardnish

spent yesterday entertaining our 2 oldest friends who happened to be on Skye for a week as well. Lovely log basket as housewarming present! Took a great walk along the shore from the cottage to Ashaig Bay, up past the old cemetery and back in along the Committee Road. Today we went to the head of the bay, followed the track on had a glorious walk on the Ardnish Peninsula. Must bring up the wild flower books as there were several different orchids, dog daisies, thistles, ragged robin and dozens of others. Saw – and heard – several seals on the shore. Need to get hold of the geology map as well as the limestone pavements have lots of fossils. Midsummer – able to walk again and light enough to read up to 11.00 p.m.
